Committees

The Queen’s Daughters offer a variety of committee positions and volunteer opportunities throughout the year and encourage our members to get involved in as many ways as possible. If you would like to join a committee, please contact us. Read about each committee’s involvement opportunity below.

Administration Department

The Administration Department committees are overseen by the 1st Vice-President.

  • Budget/Finance Committee: Supervise finances and propose budget at March board meeting.

  • Bylaws Committee: Oversee amendments to the bylaws and make recommendations to the organization for action.

  • Fall Fun Festival Committee: Fall fundraising event to benefit the Student Scholarship Fund and Catholic Charities’ programs. Opportunities to participate include helping with reservations and raffle ticket sales, promoting the event, creating gift baskets, and volunteering as needed.   • Fashion Show Committee: Primary spring fundraising event to benefit the Student Scholarship Fund and Catholic Charities’ programs; opportunities to participate include helping with reservations, giftcard collection, event decoration, modeling, hostessing, seeking sponsors, promoting the event, creating gift baskets, and volunteering as needed. Membership Department

The Membership Department committees are overseen by the 2nd Vice-President.

  • Day of Reflection Committee: Coordinate, set up, and assist as needed for our annual event. Learn more about our annual Day of Reflection event.

  • Etcetera Committee: Plan for special interest programs and the bridge marathon.

  • Membership: Promote and manage membership and dues process.

  • Membership Directory Committee: Assist in the compiling, proofreading, printing, and mailing of our annual directory containing our our yearly events, a list of members and their contact information, the organization’s standing rules, bylaws, and more.

  • Telephone Committee: Contact members by phone for special events and emergencies or as needed.

  • Visitation/Bereavement Committee: Visit Queen’s Daughters members in their homes or in nursing homes throughout the community, representing the Queen’s Daughters at funeral homes when members, former members or their family members pass away.

Communications Department

The Communications Department committees are overseen by the 3rd Vice-President.

  • Hospitality Committee: Serve as hostess at general membership meetings.

  • Meeting Program Speakers Committee: Obtain/introduce speakers for the Fall, Spring, and Christmas general membership meetings.

  • Meeting Reservations Committee: Organize meals and reservations for the Fall, Spring, and Christmas general membership meetings.

  • Parish Representative Committee: Promote The Queen’s Daughters within the parish, publish events in the bulletin, and request donations as appropriate.

  • Publicity Committee: Acquaint the general public with The Queen’s Daughters through press releases, web, email, and social media.

  • Sacristan Committee: Set up Mass at general meetings and assist the celebrant as needed.

Community/Education Service Department

The Community Service Department committees are overseen by the 4th Vice-President. Learn more about how the Queen’s Daughters serves the community.

  • Catholic Charities Committee: Babysit in the children’s nursery, coordinate financial contributions, and volunteer at Sisters Visitor Center.

  • Community Service Committee: Oversee The Queen’s Daughters supported charity organizations:

  • Cathedral Lunches: Volunteer and serve lunches at The Cathedral of the Assumption.

  • Golden Arrow: Help provide assistance to mothers, mothers-to-be, and their children. Set up and/or volunteer for the annual Jewelry sale.

  • Little Sisters of the Poor: Help with activities as needed such as making beds, serving lunch, and helping with laundry.

  • Mary’s Day Committee: Coordinate, set up, and assist as needed for our annual event. Learn more about our annual Mary’s Day event.

  • Student Scholarships Committee: Select students to receive scholarship program scholarships to local Catholic high schools.
