COMMITTEES
The Queen’s Daughters offer a variety of committee positions and volunteer opportunities throughout the year and encourage our members to get involved in as many ways as possible. ADMINISTRATION & FUNDRAISING DEPARTMENT
The administration and fundraising department committees are overseen by the 1st Vice-President:
Budget/Finance:
Supervise finances and propose budget at March board meeting.
Bylaws:
Oversee amendments to the bylaws and make recommendations to the organization for action.
Fall Fun Fest:
Fall fundraising/friend-raising event to benefit the Student Scholarship Fund and Catholic Charities’ Family Services program. Opportunities to participate include serving on the committee, promoting the event, creating gift baskets, and volunteering as needed.
Fashion Show:
Primary spring fundraising event to benefit the Student Scholarship Fund and Catholic Charities’ Family Services program; opportunities to participate include serving on the committee, modeling, hostessing, seeking sponsors, promoting the event, creating gift baskets, and volunteering as needed.
EXTENSION AND OUTREACH DEPARTMENT
The extension and outreach department committees are overseen by the 2nd Vice-President:
Membership:
Promote and manage membership and dues process.
Memorial Fund:
Supply funeral homes with memorial fund envelopes and receive and acknowledge contributions.
Day of Reflection:
Set up and assist as needed.
Programs:
Obtain/introduce speakers for the three general membership meetings.
Sacristan:
Set up Mass at general meetings and assist the celebrant as needed.
Yearbook:
Compile, print, and mail the yearbook in coordination with the membership committee.
Etcetera:
Plan for special interest programs and the bridge marathon.
PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT
The public relations department committees are overseen by the 3rd Vice-President:
Hospitality:
Serve as hostess at general membership meetings.
Newsletter:
Request submissions for The Queen’s Daughters news from committee chairs. Edit, organize, and proof compositions before forwarding to the printer for formatting, printing, and mailing.
Publicity:
Acquaint the general public with The Queen’s Daughters through press releases, web, email, and social media.
Reservations:
Organize meals and reservations for general meetings.
Telephone:
Contact members by phone for special events and emergencies or as needed.
COMMUNITY SERVICE DEPARTMENT
The community service department committees are overseen by the 4th Vice-President:
Community Action:
Oversee The Queen’s Daughters supported charity organizations.
Little Sisters of the Poor:
Help with activities as needed such as making beds, serving lunch, and helping with laundry.
Nativity Academy at St. Boniface:
Help with tutoring, scholarship committee, and other activities as needed.
St. John Center for Homeless:
Help with activities as needed such as serving as receptionist at the welcome desk.
Nazareth Home:
Help with activities as needed such as delivering mail, visiting the residents, and distributing communion.
Mary’s Day:
Coordinate activities for the Mass and luncheon in May.
Catholic Charities’ Family Services Program:
Babysit in the nursery, donate baby items, and coordinate financial contributions. Attend The Queen’s Daughters fundraising events to support this program.
Student Scholarships:
Select students to receive scholarship program scholarships to local Catholic high schools. Attend The Queen’s Daughters fundraising events to support this program.
Bereavement:
Visit funeral home when The Queen’s Daughters member passes away.
Visitation:
Visit and communicate with members in nursing homes throughout the community.
Parish Representative:
Promote The Queen’s Daughters within the parish, publish events in the bulletin, and request donations as appropriate.
