Mary’s Day - 2026
On Tuesday, May 12, Queen's Daughters members and guests gathered at Holy Family Church for our annual Mary's Day celebration—a cherished tradition honoring our patroness, the Blessed Mother.
The morning began with the recitation of the Rosary, followed by a beautiful procession led by our officers, scholarship recipients, cross bearer Deacon Pat Wright, and Very Reverend Jeffrey Shooner, Vicar General.
Before Mass, Anne Sansbury, Scholarship Chair, introduced this year's Catholic High School Scholarship recipients as Reverend Shooner presented each student with their scholarship certificate.
Mass was celebrated with music provided by Queen's Daughters member Emily Fields, who served as cantor, accompanied by Dennis O'Donohue. Following the homily, Reverend Shooner blessed the crown, and Queen's Daughters President Paula Shearer placed it upon the Fatima Statue of the Blessed Mother—a beautiful tradition symbolizing our devotion to Mary.
Following Mass, members and guests gathered in the Saffin Center for a delicious luncheon prepared by Joe Huber's Farm & Restaurant. Beautiful rose centerpieces adorned each table, while the scholarship recipients' tables featured special treat-filled centerpieces in celebration of their achievements. This year's celebration welcomed 162 attendees, including 12 guests.
A sincere thank you to Mary's Day Chair Cindy Huber, Co-Chair Donna Koenig, and the entire Mary's Day Committee for creating such a beautiful and meaningful celebration through their thoughtful planning and decorations.
Celebrating Our 2026 Scholarship Recipients
One of the highlights of Mary's Day is recognizing the outstanding students who have been selected to receive Queen's Daughters Catholic High School Scholarships.
Congratulations to our 2026 scholarship recipients! We wish each of these students every success as they begin their high school journey, and they will remain in our prayers.
Karen Diaz from St. Rita Catholic School will be attending Presentation Academy
Caroline Kemper from St. Aloysius, Pewee Valley will be attending Assumption High School
Jose Torres from St. Rita Catholic School will be attending DeSales High School
Corvion Reynolds from St. Nicholas Academy will be attending DeSales High School
